History of Our Church

The seeds of a vision to start a church in Fredericton began to sprout in the summer of 2008, when Brent Roy, with the prayerful support of his wife, Mary-Jo, began meeting weekly in their living room with a group of about 20 believers to worship God and pray for the Lord's direction about His plans for a new church in this city.

Core Group Formed in 2009

It became apparant that a committed core group would be required in order to move forward. Following our "Vision Night" in November, 2009, we coalesced into a growing group of believers dedicated to the work of buildng a new church congregation in Fredericton.

Just over two years after our first home meeting, Harvest Christian Church held its first service on Sunday evening, July 25, 2010 in the Rotary Room of Killarney Lake Lodge. The Crosspoint Church worship team provided the worship music and Pastor Brent Roy spoke on Ephesians 2:1-10.

Public Events

Since our initial meetings, we have conducted three evangelism training events, hosted a backyard barbecue with 50 attendees (including a group of talented and loving folks from First Baptist Church of Bastrop, La.), and regularly visited local public places to share the gospel.

In the summer of 2010, we hosted a group from Cartledge Creek Baptist Church in Rockingham, North Carolina. During the week of July 18-23, we visited over 500 homes in the Brookside Drive area.
